In this section, you’ll see two options: Pat and Song. In the centre, you’ll find your transport section: play, stop and record buttons for playback. Here you will find the File, Edit, Options and much more up the top left.Ī lot of them are straightforward, or just itemized versions of the various buttons and knobs that lay across the interface already, so don’t get hung up on these.

Nothing is fixed, besides the toolbar across the top of the screen, which is what we will look at first. That’s the beauty of this DAW – it’s infinitely customizable, especially in comparison to its arch-nemesis, Ableton Live.

How to edit the range of which notes plays on your MIDI device depends on what device it is. When you click a note, it should say "Note on: C3 (or any note)" and then "Note off: C3 (or any note)". Then you test out what notes your MIDI is playing from, keep tapping a note, and in the top-left area of FL Studio, right under the tabs where it says "File", "Edit", "Add", etc, there should be a grey elgongated rectnagle. Then directly under the "input" section, should be a round button with "Enable" next to it.

I use MIDI Pads so I change the scale via the software program for my Pads You can change the scale in which notes click via the FL keyboard by right clicking it's square at the top and changing the "layout". The sampled note should change pitch when you add higher and lower notes in the piano roll, tap your computer keyboard if you have "tying keyboard to piano key" on, or tap any MIDI device you're using with FL Studio. Hopefully this is what you want to achieve ( I conjecture it is based off of the "doo" vocal sample which is pitching changing in the URL you've gave). What this does is makes it that so when you click a new note, the priorly clicked note stops playing so there is no over-lap. Even if it starts out lighted up, click it to make it "grey", and then click it so it's lighted up again. Once in the channel settings, click on "use loop points".
